The hit comedy show has been renewed for another season after a record-breaking revival so it’s good news for the fans of this series. Each episode of Weight Loss Edition will show attempts by “super obese” to securely lose half their body weight over a year. The series is produced by 3 Ball Productions/Eyeworks USA that also produces the NBC weight loss series, The Biggest Loser whereas JD Roth, Todd A. Nelson and Matt Assmus are the executive producers.
Those who surpass their projected ideal weight by about 225 percent and who are approximately 200 pounds or more overweight are defined as “super obese” people, according to ABC. “Extreme Makeover: Weight Loss Edition” will document each participant’s journey in a stand-alone episode. ABC renewed the TV series for a second season of 6 episodes back in September by thinking that it takes as much as a year to shoot each makeover since the goal is for morbidly-obese participants to lose half their body weight.
