Top Chef Just Desserts Season 2 : Contestant List


An American reality competition show, Top Chef: Just Desserts Season 2 will be premiered on Wednesday, August 24 at 10PM on the cable television network Bravo. Recently the cast of the new season has been announced in which 14 contestants will compete to win $100,000 provided by KitchenAid, a showcase at the Annual Food & Wine Cayman Cookout and a trait in Food & Wine magazine. Season 2 challenges differ as it includes making edible room décor, fairytale showpieces, carnival delights and high-quality gingerbread homes.

The series provides an interesting window into the cutthroat, pressure-filled surroundings of pastry chefs at the utmost level. There are two challenges in each episode of Top Chef: Just Desserts – a Quickfire Challenge and an Elimination Challenge. A Quickfire test is a short challenge that checks every contestant’s basic skills while the Elimination Challenge is generally more complex and tests the chefs’ creativity and adaptability in using definite ingredients or satisfying a certain client’s wishes. It will be proved by chefs that a little sugar and spice is not just enough to taste pleasant.

Once again the same crew returns of this highly competitive series – “Top Chef” judge Gail Simmons will be host together with Johnny Iuzzini as head judge, Chef Hubert Keller, and Dannielle Kyrillos. Beastie Boys’ Adam “Ad Rock” Horovitz, the cast of Willy Wonka & The Chocolate Factory, Francois Payard, and Cat Cora will also come as the celebrity guest judges. The drama-filled season 1 of “Top Chef Just Desserts” was won by 29-year-old pastry chef Yigit Pura and averaged 1.9 total viewers.
