The rating of Chaos was extremely low from beginning. In the debut episode, it gained 1.1 rating in 18-49 demographic as well as 6.53 million watchers. In second Friday night, rating was dropped as 0.9 in the demo and attracted 5.73 million spectators. The rating in last third episode declined even more and it recorded worse 1.0 rating with only 5.683 million viewers. This kind of rating could not help the show to continue its remaining 10 episodes.

Chaos was aired from April 1, 2011 to April 15, 2011 in the form of mid-season substitution for The Defenders. This hour-long comedy drama shows small group of CIA nonconformist detectives in the Clandestine Administration and Oversight Services (CAOS) division. They undertake threats to national security as well as try to prevent their jobs because of budget cuts. The series stars Freddy Rodriguez, James Murray, Christina Cole, Tim Blake Nelson, Eric Close, Carmen Ejogo and Kurtwood Smith.

CBS will premiere a rerun of ‘CSI: NY’ to this week and formerly planned ‘The Royal Wedding: Modern Majesty’ to next week in place of Chaos for Friday night timeslot. From 6 May, 2011, new episodes of cop action-drama ‘Flashpoint’ will be showed. CBS has still not declared the Chaos as ‘canceled’ and moreover, it has not made any verification whether left installments will be aired in future or not. If we look on ratings then it seems that the show will not be renewed. But, announcement from CBS reveals that the Chaos may likely to come back in future.
