An American situation comedy (sitcom), How I Met Your Mother will be back for another Season 6 as per the guarantee from CBS. “How I Met Your Mother” show was premiered on CBS on September 19, 2005 and created by Craig Thomas and Carter Bays. “How I Met Your Mother” short description
The main character of HIMYM, Ted Mosby (Josh Radnor, with narration by Bob Saget) gathers his daughter and son to tell them the tale of how he met their mother, which explains the title. In 2005, the story had started with Ted (Josh Radnor) as a single, 27-year-old architect living with his two best friends from Wesleyan University, Marshall Eriksen (Jason Segel), a lawyer, and Lily Aldrin (Alyson Hannigan), a kindergarten teacher, who have been dating for about nine years when Marshall proposes. It was only due to their engagement that caused Ted to think about marriage and finding his life partner and hence, Ted began his seek for his perfect mate.

I have read 2 very popular rumors about the identity of the mom you fans might like. First, the rumor is that in the St. Patty’s Day episode, I think its called “No Tomorrow”, the girl bumps into at around the 13:10 mark is the mother. In the start of the episode, Ted tells his kids the mom was at the party and she is seen holding her yellow umbrella wearing jeans. All the girls ted talks to at the party have dresses or skirts, but he does bump into a girl (doesn’t make sense for directors to include it if it doesn’t mean anything) who is wearing jeans. Many believe in a future episode, Ted will say something like “Kids, remember that St. Pattys party I told you about, turns out I did briefly meet your mom” and show a flashback to them bumping into each other. True fans of the show know how often directors of the show use this technique. The other theory is that Rachel Bilson will play the mother, that the roommate is actually a twin of the character we were introduced to. This would make the fact that “everyone falls in love with her roommate” hilarious because they are twins.

I hope the show gets better in season 6. I´ve always been a big fan of the show, but i was really disappointed with the fith season! I thought the acting, the dialouges and the whole progress of the story were extremely bad compared to the other seasons. But i must admit that i laughed my ass of in “The Playbook” and “The Perfect Week”!

season 3 is by far the best season, but i agree with mads because season 5 was a real let down compared to the other AMAZING seasons. i just watched the entire series within the past few days and NO to the idiot who thought Stella was going to marry Ted and NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO to the asses who wish that Ted and Robin would get married. Especially to make people think it for them not to get too impatient –’ seriously you know how awesome that show is, producers wouldn’t blow all the suspense of seing the mother in season 3 only, especially if they had planned on doing 6 seasons.
Plus the jean thing about the girls he bumps into, it’s just not good, I’ve watched carefully, when the girl named Ashley pinches ted, while they are talking we can see another girl with jeans in the background, I mean, the mother could be any of those girls.
Ted mentioned that the she bumped into the mother in st patrick’s day and she was the room mate of rachel bilson. I think the comment of kankan was more appropriate and close to whats happening with the series. I also think that the mother is a ‘twin’ sister of rachel. they will not let an unknown actress to be the mother. since rachel is popular, it’s gotta be her.

Actually they intended on doing 7 seasons but have said in interviews they are thinking of going further now. Oh and how did everyone miss the fact that Robin marries Don her new co-anchor? Ted even says it in season 5 multiple times.

The thing is that Ted tells his kids the story in the year of 2030. The kids have to be at least 16 years old. And everyone would hate the story if Ted knocked their up mother, It would lose the romance charm. So he has to at least meet their mother in this or the next season. Otherwise it’s just not possible.
I have heard a rumor that you wont see the mother, ted is telling the story how he meet the mother and the serie will end with ted saying “and kids thats how i meet your mother” maybe their on their first date or something like that.
i hope it wont end like this but it isnt the first time a serie ends in a bad way, the sopranos for exampel.

I think Zoey’s step daughter Hannah would be college age as per the age of her rich husband. Hannah could be the roommate of Rachel Bilson’s character and Ted’s future wife. I think that would play out well.

We have never seen the mother yet, she is not the girl he bumps into in “No Tomorrow”.
He will meet her at a wedding, so it will probably be at Ponchy’s wedding, where he is the best man.
So my guess would be that he will meet her in season 7 or 8.

I like the theory that Rachel Bilson’s room mate is her twin and will be ted’s wife. I also like my own theory that the mother dies while giving birth to the kids and he ends up with Robin. This is why you never see her in episodes showing future marshall, lily and ted.

The best option and the only realistic one that truly fits is Barney’s sister.
1. She would be at Barney’s Wedding
2. She goes to college
3. Chain of event. Why the series begins with Robin. Robin was there so that Barney/Robin could happen and eventually cause Barney to open up to find his dad (and thus sister). No robin = barney never connects with his dad (and thus sister) =ted doesn’t meet her.
4. Uncle Barney and Aunt Robin!!!! Why else should they be called that!
