Moreover, for three further years Carter Bays and Craig Thomas are already in contract with 20th Century Fox TV. To form a new but not yet titled show about a young couple and their friends in Pittsburgh, the restitution of “HIMYM” means that they have to work twice their time before.
In the interim, “Two and a Half Men” and “The Big Bang Theory” are in the midst of a multi-year pickup as per THR. CBS has also renewed, “The Amazing Race” for 1 more season and “Survivor” for 2 more seasons.
“How I Met Your Mother” short description
The main character of HIMYM, Ted Mosby (Josh Radnor, with narration by Bob Saget) gathers his daughter and son to tell them the tale of how he met their mother, which explains the title. In 2005, the story had started with Ted (Josh Radnor) as a single, 27-year-old architect living with his two best friends from Wesleyan University, Marshall Eriksen (Jason Segel), a lawyer, and Lily Aldrin (Alyson Hannigan), a kindergarten teacher, who have been dating for about nine years when Marshall proposes. It was only due to their engagement that caused Ted to think about marriage and finding his life partner and hence, Ted began his seek for his perfect mate.
How I Met Your Mother’s other foremost characters are Marshall Eriksen (Jason Segel), Robin Scherbatsky (Cobie Smulders), Barney Stinson (Neil Patrick Harris), and Lily Aldrin (Alyson Hannigan).

I have read 2 very popular rumors about the identity of the mom you fans might like. First, the rumor is that in the St. Patty’s Day episode, I think its called “No Tomorrow”, the girl bumps into at around the 13:10 mark is the mother. In the start of the episode, Ted tells his kids the mom was at the party and she is seen holding her yellow umbrella wearing jeans. All the girls ted talks to at the party have dresses or skirts, but he does bump into a girl (doesn’t make sense for directors to include it if it doesn’t mean anything) who is wearing jeans. Many believe in a future episode, Ted will say something like “Kids, remember that St. Pattys party I told you about, turns out I did briefly meet your mom” and show a flashback to them bumping into each other. True fans of the show know how often directors of the show use this technique. The other theory is that Rachel Bilson will play the mother, that the roommate is actually a twin of the character we were introduced to. This would make the fact that “everyone falls in love with her roommate” hilarious because they are twins.

Kankan, you are correct about one of those rumores being pretty popular. The guys at the studio did have that planned out, but decided to go with another idea they have. All im saying is…dont be surprised if all the “talk” Future Ted is having, is just to tell his kids he’s getting a divorce. Or something like that

we already know that ted’s wife is this chicks roomate he saw going into the shower.

I hope the show gets better in season 6. I´ve always been a big fan of the show, but i was really disappointed with the fith season! I thought the acting, the dialouges and the whole progress of the story were extremely bad compared to the other seasons. But i must admit that i laughed my ass of in “The Playbook” and “The Perfect Week”!

Kankan is wrong. in the episode “no tomorrow”, it says that ted doesnt meet his wife at the party, and if he would she wouldnt have liked him.

season 3 is by far the best season, but i agree with mads because season 5 was a real let down compared to the other AMAZING seasons. i just watched the entire series within the past few days and NO to the idiot who thought Stella was going to marry Ted and NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO to the asses who wish that Ted and Robin would get married. THEY ARE NO LONGER IN LOVE. and finally, high five to the awesome person who thinks that Robin should be the mother of Barneys children. HELL YES.
I just wanted to say that in the earlier comments when people were saying ‘obviously ted and barney are not going to get married’ and the ‘ted and barney go through a gay phase’ i think you people misunderstood the comments made about ‘ted and barney getting married in season 6′ i think i can say with absolute certainty that those comments meant that ted and barney will apparently be getting married to WOMEN and they will both have weddings in season 6, they are not getting married to each other

Especially to make people think it for them not to get too impatient –’ seriously you know how awesome that show is, producers wouldn’t blow all the suspense of seing the mother in season 3 only, especially if they had planned on doing 6 seasons.
Plus the jean thing about the girls he bumps into, it’s just not good, I’ve watched carefully, when the girl named Ashley pinches ted, while they are talking we can see another girl with jeans in the background, I mean, the mother could be any of those girls.
Ted mentioned that the she bumped into the mother in st patrick’s day and she was the room mate of rachel bilson. I think the comment of kankan was more appropriate and close to whats happening with the series. I also think that the mother is a ‘twin’ sister of rachel. they will not let an unknown actress to be the mother. since rachel is popular, it’s gotta be her.

Actually they intended on doing 7 seasons but have said in interviews they are thinking of going further now. Oh and how did everyone miss the fact that Robin marries Don her new co-anchor? Ted even says it in season 5 multiple times.

I really want to know who Ted marries but i don’t want the show to end. And people Ted doesn’t marry Robin because when he is telling his children the story he refers to her as ‘aunt Robin’ and the mother is the room mate of the girl that he dated.
